Here is the CEO letter from our most recent issue:
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the sixth issue of The Pine Pointer, our newsletter dedicated to keeping our neighbouring communities informed about our activities and plans for Pine Point.
This issue reflects our focus on continuing to foster strong, constructive relationships with our local communities.
In early April, we hosted a successful three day technical workshop in Yellowknife. Several people joined us in person and online for an in-depth review of the different aspects of the proposed Pine Point mine development project. We covered everything from health and safety, environmental aspects, proposed operational approach, to mine closure and reclamation. We did deep dives on water management, water quality, hydrology, hydrogeology, and aquatic risk assessments. We dug into soil, vegetation, and archeology, as well as wildlife habitats. And we examined Indigenous Knowledge, culture, and well-being, along with other social and cultural factors, among other things. It included detailed approaches presented over three days.
This generated invaluable feedback from regulators and Indigenous and local community leaders on our plans going forward. We know that community support is critical and look forward to incorporating feedback where possible into our plans as we move forward.
That’s why we are pleased to launch some key updates to our website. You can now submit your comments and feedback to us in a variety of ways. If you have a grievance, you can fill out a form that gets submitted directly to our community relations team. If you want to share a story about Pine Point’s history, we have a portal for that. And if you’re looking for sponsorship, there’s a form for that. Access all three by going to pinepointmining.com, and clicking the Community button on the main menu.
Thank you, as always, for your continued trust in and partnership with us. Please stay in touch, and do not hesitate to contact us at anytime at info@pinepointmining.com. Your opinions and insights are very welcome.
