Are you part of the Pine Point legacy?
Pine Point’s legacy stretches back to at least 1885, when the first mineralization was identified on surface during the Klondike Gold Rush. Although the area was initially deemed too remote to be mined economically, exploration work continued, and five deposits were discovered by 1930.
A major exploration program that yielded new deposits was launched after the Second World War, and infrastructure was built by the early 1960s. The Pine Point townsite was completed in 1963, and 51 deposits were mined between 1964 and 1988.
